Things To Do, Places To Go…
Your mom is always there for you, thick or thin – One day a year (hopefully more!), you can show her how much you appreciate all she does for you. Below are some ideas for activities and dining that might be just what she deserves!
Things To Do:
Tower Hill Botanical Gardens – Take a picnic lunch and enjoy the gorgeous views or make a reservation at the Twigs Cafe for excellent dining. Either way, walk the grounds, see the over 25,000 daffodils in bloom, sign up for a workshop and bask in the Mother’s Day love!
Lilac Sunday at the Arnold Arboretum –This is one of my very favorite activities as a mom on Mother’s Day! Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy a stroll through the pristine, Frederick Olmsted designed arboretum where hundreds of varieties of lilac are in full bloom and the scent of lilac is divine!
Duckling Parade at Boston Common! Do you have young children or grandchildren? What cuter way to celebrate Mother’s Day than dressing them up in yellow and joining the Duckling Parade in Boston Common, then posing for pictures at the Make Way For Duckling statue!
Hike Mount Wachusett! A moderate hike up Mt Wachusett will reward you with spectacular views all around. Pack a lunch and make a day of it!
Wayside Inn – Why not take your mom for a stroll around the beautiful grounds then treat here to an early dinner at the Wayside Inn. Make a reservation for a special Check out the menu here Or call 978.443.1776.
As a special note, for those who may be missing their mother on this day, consider honoring her by volunteering at a Nursing Home near you or giving your time to a homeless shelter.
